Paws and Relax: Top Guide to Happy Dog Baths

Dos and Don’t of Baths for Furry Friends

Here at TOA Waters, we believe that bathtime is for everyone, even our four-legged companions! Bathtime might look a bit different for our furry friends though! Be sure to browse our list of tips below to ensure a top-notch experience for your favorite pooch!

  1. Lay out all of your supplies ahead of time. Especially if your dog is on the move, you’ll want to make sure to avoid interruptions and distractions.

  2. Reinforce your dog’s behavior with praise or treats! Remember, bathtime might be a new experience for them and requires some learning and patience.

  3. Bring out your sweats and tshirts; expect that you will be in the splash zone!

  4. Be sure to protect your dog’s eyes and ears from water and soap, this way you’ll be sure to avoid infection and irritation.

  5. Test the water first; keep in mind that warm is best. Avoid water that is too hot or too cold to ensure your dog’s comfort.

  6. Do some research first. Make sure that you are using products that are gentle and safe.

  7. Vary up the bath schedule. The goal is to avoid bathing your dog every day to protect the natural oils of their skin and nails and avoid excessive dryness.

Happy bathing to all the pups out there! Let us know how it goes; we’d love to hear from you!
